Smothered Green Beans


  • 5 (15 oz.) cans Green Beans, drained
  • 1 lb. Bacon
  • ⅓ cup Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cup Butter, melted
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder


  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Pour the drained green beans into an ungreased 9X13 baking dish.
  • Cook bacon until almost done, not too crispy.
  • Break the bacon into pieces and sprinkle over the green beans.
  • Whisk together the brown sugar, melted butter, soy sauce, and garlic powder.
  • Pour the prepared mixture over the green beans and bacon.
  • Bake uncovered for 40 minutes. The green bean ends will appear slightly brown once done.

Serves ~ 8-10
